About Bad Hersfeld Pride
Pride came to a part of Germany that had never had it before: the rural districts of Hersfeld-Rotenburg and Werra-Meißner in eastern Hesse. The group behind it, known as Hersfeld Rotenburg Pride, was started by Daniel Seelos, who first founded a Pride initiative for the Werra-Meißner district before expanding the work to Hersfeld-Rotenburg.
Bad Hersfeld held its first Pride event, a deliberate move to bring Pride beyond big cities and into rural areas. For many queer people in the region, it was the first chance to join a Pride march close to home instead of traveling to Kassel or Frankfurt.
