About Malta Pride
Malta Pride is the main event for the island's queer community, run by Allied Rainbow Communities (ARC). Since it was founded, the organisation has worked on belonging, visibility and legal equality for LGBTIQ+ people in Malta.
The celebration spans several days of cultural and political events, building up to a parade through the streets of Valletta. The parade starts at Triton Square by the fountain, moves through the old town and ends at St. George's Square, where a concert and an open-air party close out the day. Floats, dance groups and street performers are part of the march, and the unveiling of a giant rainbow flag has become a recurring highlight. Visitors who prefer to watch rather than march often follow the parade from café terraces along Republic Street.
