Wiesloch Pride 2027 / Dorfpride 2027

Wiesloch is a town in the Rhein-Neckar district of Baden-Württemberg, about thirteen kilometres south of Heidelberg. It has no annual Pride march of its own. Queer visibility in the town comes mainly from Dorfpride, a Pride demonstration for smaller communities that moves to a different town in the region every year and was hosted once by Wiesloch.

Dorfpride began in Mühlhausen, a municipality of fewer than nine thousand people. After transphobic statements and assaults there, a group of locals started planning a Pride event on a village scale. The first march went through Mühlhausen; later editions moved on to Oftersheim, Ladenburg, Wiesloch and Ketsch. The organisers pick the next host through an online poll in which towns and local groups can apply. Wiesloch won the round that ran under the title „Deutschland sucht das SuperDorf“, a play on a German talent show.

What sets Dorfpride apart from big city parades is its approach. The march passes through residential streets, past front doors and courtyards, and the team plans each edition together with people from the host town. The Wiesloch march drew around fifteen hundred participants, roughly as many as Ladenburg the year before.

The organisers see the day as a starting point rather than an end in itself. They seek out talks with the town administration, clubs and residents and put forward specific demands, such as training for staff in public offices and institutions or a place where queer people in the town can meet. The aim is to reduce discrimination in rural areas and push for structural changes that outlast the march itself.

Visitors looking for a larger Pride event will find one in the neighbouring cities of Heidelberg and Mannheim, both reachable by S-Bahn from Wiesloch-Walldorf station.
