About Fulda Pride
The Fulda Pride march is run by foll bunt e.V., an association that supports queer life in the Osthessen region year-round. The parade sets off at Fulda train station and heads through the city centre to Universitätsplatz, so arriving by train drops you right at the starting point.
Once the march reaches the square, a stage programme takes over for the rest of the afternoon: live bands, vocal acts and drag performances alternate with a DJ set, and speakers step up between the music. One recurring highlight pairs a drag performance with a short speech; another slot mixes a DJ set with live violin. Each edition runs under its own motto, chosen fresh every year.
Several thousand people take part, many travelling in from the surrounding countryside. Fulda sits away from Germany's larger cities, which makes this one of the few days each year queer life in the region is this visible on the street.
foll bunt e.V. keeps working beyond the one day, running services and meeting points for queer people in Fulda and Osthessen throughout the year. The march remains the group's most public moment: the city centre is closed off for the parade, and people who otherwise only cross paths at scattered club meetings show up together.
