About Kaufbeuren Pride
Kaufbeuren closes out Allgäu Pride Summer, a several-week series of queer events across the Allgäu region. It is run by the association Allgäu Pride, founded by young queer people and their straight allies from the area. The group now counts more than a hundred members.
Its motto sets the tone: the Allgäu can do more. The association pushes back against the region's postcard image, mountains, cows, traditional dress, and shows that queer life exists between Kempten and Kaufbeuren too. The Pride Summer opens with the Pride event in Kempten and closes with its own Pride week in Kaufbeuren.
