About Offenbach Pride
Offenbach's Pride march is the first one the city on the river Main has ever held. It is organized by a newly founded association that grew out of roughly three dozen founding members and operates under the patronage of Offenbach's mayor. Until now, queer residents of Offenbach who wanted to join a Pride demonstration nearby usually had to travel the few kilometers to Frankfurt.
The association was set up by people who no longer wanted to stay quiet in the face of rising violence against queer people, marching under the motto "Queer of Course" — a deliberate play on the city's own name that sums up the group's stance: queer life is simply part of Offenbach, not an exception to it.
Around the demonstration and rally itself, the association built a full Pride week of cultural programming: an open stage for queer performers, a drag storytime for children paired with a family rave, a pub quiz, and queer art exhibitions at venues across the city. The ambition goes beyond a single day of marching — the group wants to establish a lasting meeting point, including a regular community get-together, and to make queer life in Offenbach and the surrounding district more visible year-round.
