Regensburg Pride 2027

Regensburg has its own Pride, known locally as Christopher Street Day. It is organized by Queeres Regensburg, an umbrella association of almost twenty queer groups from the city and the surrounding region. A small volunteer team plans the event, with many helpers joining on the day itself.

Pride here is first of all a political demonstration. It opens with a rally where local groups speak alongside representatives of several political parties. A march through the old town follows, and the afternoon ends with a street festival. Attendance has grown noticeably in recent years and has reached several thousand people, which is a lot for a city of about 150,000.

The Pride grows out of a network of groups that work all year round. Under the Queeres Regensburg umbrella you find youth groups such as Jung & Bunt and Jung & Gleich, Trans-Ident e.V. as a contact point for trans people, the regional AIDS counseling service for the Upper Palatinate, the LSVD, the Dyke Club and a meetup for women who came out later in life. University groups, a school education project and ReSI e.V., one of the older gay and lesbian initiatives in town that used to run the Pride itself, are also part of it.

Queer party series such as Candylicious hold their own events around Pride, often with pre-parties in old-town bars. Dates and program change every year, so check with Queeres Regensburg before planning a visit.
