About Schwäbisch Hall
Pride in Schwäbisch Hall is a young event. It has been held since the late 2010s, usually on a Saturday afternoon in late June or early July, and has now seen more than half a dozen editions. It is organized by Club Alpha 60 e.V., a sociocultural center that has been self-managed and non-commercial since the 1960s. The organizers treat the day explicitly as a political demonstration. Speeches and rallies take center stage, with far less emphasis on floats and party music.
The basic format has stayed much the same, although the starting point varies. Some years the march opens with a rally at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Platz, other years it sets off from Froschgraben and passes through the old town with stops at the Marktplatz and at Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Platz. From there the route heads north along the Kocher river to the grounds of Club Alpha 60 on Spitalmühlenstraße. A summer festival follows on site, with information stands, a stage program and food and drink into the evening.
Several hundred people have typically joined the march, a sizeable turnout for a town of just over forty thousand residents. Each edition has its own motto; one of them was "Liebe Vielfalt Widerstand" ("love, diversity, resistance"). The local community radio station StHörfunk has broadcast the march live, including speeches and interviews with the organizing team. First aid is provided by volunteers from Sanitätsgruppe Süd-West, a group that specializes in covering demonstrations and non-commercial cultural events.
Outside the Pride weekend, queer life in Schwäbisch Hall keeps a low profile. Club Alpha 60, with its concerts, working groups and open spaces, remains the main point of reference. For teenagers aged thirteen and over, the town's youth service at Heimbacher Hof runs a Queertreff once a month on a Friday. Club Alpha 60 announces the date and motto of each year's march on its website and social media, and the town also lists the event in its official calendar.

Volunteering at Pride: What happens behind the scenes
Pride events rely on people at information points, around the venue and behind the scenes. This guide helps you choose a role and arrive with realistic expectations.
Pride is a public assembly, not a favour
Pride is often festive, but it is also a way to gather publicly and demand equality. What that means for organisers and visitors.
Bringing a sign to Pride: Make your point without shutting others out
A Pride sign can make a demand visible without blocking other people out. Practical choices about wording, size, photography and shared space make it work better.
