About Arnsberg Pride
Pride in Arnsberg is the first event of its kind in the Sauerland region and is organized by the association offen.BUND Arnsberg e.V. The group was founded on the conviction that a town in this rural part of North Rhine-Westphalia deserves its own Pride celebration, proving that queer life does not only belong in big cities.
Under the motto "Visibility and Pride," the parade moves through the town center of Arnsberg's Neheim district, featuring speeches, music and information stands along the way. The day continues into the evening with an afterparty called "Queer Joy," held at the KUNST-WERK cultural venue in Neheim and offering music, drag performances and dancing.
Around the main Pride day, offen.BUND Arnsberg organizes additional events that turn the occasion into a small festival: an open meet-up designed as a safe space for exchange and connection, a sports-themed warm-up gathering, and an ecumenical church service held in Neheim. Together, these events are aimed at the local queer community as well as allies and anyone curious about getting involved.
